Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and was raised by the multiracial, mixed-ethnic family. Jacqueline's parents are Malaysian as well as the Sri Lankan. The father of Jacqueline is Elroy Fernandez is from Sri Lanka. Jacqueline is the oldest of two siblings and a younger sibling. The family relocated to Bahrain in 1980s due to the Lankan turmoil and her birth and education were in Bahrain. Following her education in Bahrain, she was awarded a Scholarship to study at Sydney's University of Sydney, where she completed a bachelor's diploma with a major in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia.
